What is ÖSD?

ÖSD is an official German language proficiency exam that is recognized worldwide .Language levels within ÖSD are as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The acronym ÖSD has 2 meanings:

Ö = Österreich, S = Schweiz, D = Deutschland (meaning Austria, Switzerland, Germany)

Ö = Österreichisches S = Sprach D = Diplom (meaning Austrian language diploma)

 

ÖSD exam tests all 4 language skills – reading, listening, writing and speaking. It is divided into 2 parts – Written and Oral. Reading, listening and writing together is considered as a written exam.

Where are ÖSD exams accepted?

ÖSD exams are accepted by the embassies, universities, educational institutions and offices in Austria, Germany and Switzerland (DACH countries/region).
If you are looking for a work visa, student visa, family visa or citizenship in any of the DACH countries, your language proficiency can be proved using an ÖSD certificate.

How Often are exams conducted?

ÖSD exams are for levels A1, A2, B1 & B2 (Written & Spoken) are conducted at our exam centre in Kakkanad, Ernakulam every month.
